CD changer

Installed position

The BMW 6 CD AI or PI CD changer is

installed at the rear left in the luggage

compartment.

The CD magazine holds up to 6 CDs.

Operating temperatures

Only use the CD changer at tem-

peratures between 06 and

+ 606, otherwise it may malfunction.

Even when switched off, the unit should

not be exposed to temperatures out-

side a range of – 256 to + 856.c

Atmospheric humidity

A high level of humidity inside the de-

vice may cause the laser beam focusing

lens to fog over and prevent the CD

from being played.

Precautions when using laser

equipment

The BMW AI and PI 6 CD changers are

classified as Class 1 laser products.

Do not remove the cover from the

housing.

Never run the device if its cover is dam-

aged. This could expose you to radia-

tion from the invisible laser beam.

Repairs or maintenance work must only

be carried out by qualified service ex-

perts.c

Handling CDs

A CD has a protective coating on both

sides. In spite of this, take the following

precautions:

d Always hold the CD at the outer

edge, and avoid fingerprints or dust,

scratches or moisture on the reflec-

tive side of the CD.

d Do not write on CDs or attach labels

to them.
