TRAFFIC INFORMATION

Using an optional Garmin

FM TMC Trafﬁc Receiver, your

Navigator III can receive and use trafﬁc information broadcast over

the FM radio data system. No more changing the radio stations to

hear the latest trafﬁc report!

When a trafﬁc message is received, your Navigator III displays the

incident on the map and can change your route to avoid the trafﬁc

incident.

Connecting the FM Trafﬁc Receiver

Plug the FM Trafﬁc Receiver’s cable into the mini-USB connector

on the back of the Navigator III under the weather cap.

Viewing Trafﬁc Incidents

From the Main menu, touch Tools > Trafﬁc. Touch an item in the

list to view the details. Touch Near… to view trafﬁc at a different

location.

Avoiding Trafﬁc

When a trafﬁc incident is on your current route or on the road

you are driving, a or appears in the lower-left corner of

the map. To avoid the trafﬁc, touch

or , touch the trafﬁc

incident, and then touch Detour Around.
