Head-Up Display.

The Head-up Display projects your

speed, Check Control alerts and

other vital travel information onto

the windshield, directly in your ﬁ eld

of vision. The display can also

keep you informed of Navigation

system arrows, Lane Departure

Warnings and Active Cruise

Control with Stop & Go, if so

equipped, leaving you free to

concentrate on the road ahead.

Park Distance Control and

Rear-view Camera with

Top Vi ew.

Park Distance Control (PDC) uses

eight sensors – four front, four rear

– to help you judge distance to

other vehicles and unseen objects

when parking. The image on the

monitor changes and warning

beeps come faster as the front

or rear bumper approaches a

stationary object, turning into

a constant tone when the distance

is less than  inches. In addition,

the Rear-view Camera projects

the actual view on your monitor

when speeds are under  mph

in reverse gear, while Top View

offers a bird’s-eye overview of

your surroundings while parking.

Driving assistance.

Today’s technology allows greater interactivity between

vehicles, consumer electronics, the internet and driver.

BMW ConnectedDrive offers innovations in the areas of

Convenience, Safety and Infotainment. BMW Assist™

response specialists and Concierges are dedicated to

assisting you at the touch of a button. The new Mobile

Ofﬁ ce feature reads email and text messages aloud.

BMW’s onboard Navigation system helps you plan your

route; its hard drive even has room to store your favorite

music. And BMW driving aids, like those below, help

you navigate the most challenging trafﬁ c conditions.

Every moment you’re on the road you’re comfortably

in command and connected with the world – thanks to

BMW ConnectedDrive.

Lane Departure Warning.

This feature identifies when the

vehicle crosses over roadway lane

markings or is changing lanes

without signaling, and warns the

driver by sending a mild vibration

through the steering wheel. The

system can be turned on and off

via a button by the steering wheel.

Requires clearly deﬁ nable lane markings that are

not obscured by rain, snow, etc. Lane Departure

Warning feature is not a substitute for the driver’s

own responsibility in maintaining safe control of

the vehicle.

Active Cruise Control with

Stop & Go.

Active Cruise Control keeps you at

your desired preset speed. When

encountering slower-moving vehi-

cles, it slows you down to maintain

a preset distance. In heavy trafﬁ c,

the Stop & Go feature can bring

your BMW to a complete stop, if

needed. Then, when you press

the accelerator, it speeds your

vehicle back up until it maintains

your preset following distance –

or, if the road is clear, your preset

speed.

Active Cruise Control is not a substitute for the

driver’s own responsibility in adjusting speed and

otherwise controlling the vehicle. After evaluating

road, trafﬁ c and visibility conditions, the driver

must determine whether and how the system

is used.
