Infotainment. This package offers technical and media-orientated functions such as the BMW Connected App. It means that your car can provide all

the entertainment and information services you would expect of your own home or ofﬁ ce.

BMW Connected App. For the ﬁ rst time, you can now use apps in your

BMW. With the Apps option, an iPhone and the free BMW Connected

App from the Apple App Store, you’re no longer limited to just listening

to local radio, your calendar is with you all the time and you’re always in

contact with your friends. Using iDrive, you can easily select web radio

stations from around the world. You can also call up the latest status

reports from your Facebook or Twitter accounts and view upcoming

appointments on the Control Display, or even have them read to you

through the audio system’s speakers. New features include RSS feeds for

news and Wiki Local, which allows you to source Wikipedia information

on your local area.

Internet preparation. Whether you need to check the balance in your

bank account, place a bid on eBay or look something up in Wikipedia, the

BMW ConnectedDrive Internet option ensures that you can do whatever

you need to do online. To enable you to surf to your heart’s content, the

iDrive Controller in the centre console doubles as a computer mouse.

Safety. The BMW ConnectedDrive functions in this core area comprise safety-focused services that signiﬁ cantly reduce the dangers of road trafﬁ c.

Features include the BMW Head-Up Display.

High Beam Assistant. Avoid dazzling other road users – the optional

High Beam Assistant detects sources of light in the vehicle’s vicinity and

switches between high and low beam as the trafﬁ c allows. When the

system is active, an image sensor behind the rear-view mirror monitors

trafﬁ c and light conditions. The assistant function uses this data to decide

whether or not the high-beam lights should be switched on. The high-beam

is switched to low whenever trafﬁ c is detected ahead or behind and when

ambient light is sufﬁ cient.

BMW Head-Up Display. BMW Head-Up Display means you will always

have your eyes on the road. Relevant information is projected onto a

two-colour TFT display directly in the driver’s ﬁ eld of vision. The BMW

Head-Up Display, for example, shows your speed, navigation instructions

or information from the Speed Limit Info system. In addition, among other

functions, it shows the dynamic rev range via an M-speciﬁ c colour display.
