you may need to replace the fuse located at
the tip of the automotive adapter.

end piece, and remove it.
2. Remove the fuse (glass
and silver cylinder), and
replace with a 3A fast-blow
fuse.

About GPS Satellite Signals
Your Navigator IV must acquire GPS
(Global Positioning System) satellite
signals to navigate. If you are indoors,
near tall buildings or trees, or in a parking
garage, your Navigator IV cannot acquire
satellites. Go outside to an area free from tall
obstructions to use your Navigator IV.
When your Navigator IV has acquired
satellite signals, the signal strength bars on
the Menu page are green . When it
loses satellite signals, the bars turn red or
clear .
For more information about GPS, go to
www.garmin.com/aboutGPS.
Removing the Navigator IV
and Mounts
To remove the Navigator IV from the cradle
on both the automobile and motorcycle
mounts, press the button on the side of the
cradle, and tilt the Navigator IV forward.
To remove the cradle from the automobile
mount, turn the cradle to the right or the left.
Apply pressure until the socket on the cradle
releases the ball on the mount.
Caring for Your Navigator IV
Your Navigator IV contains sensitive
electronic components that can be
permanently damaged if exposed to
excessive shock or vibration exceeding that
of normal motorcycle or automobile use.
To minimize the risk of damage to your
Navigator IV, avoid dropping your unit and
operating it in extreme high-shock and high-
vibration environments.
