Insert the radio remote control unit into
the ignition switch, and you can then start
and stop your BMW simply by pressing this
button.

s Auto Start/Stop display (for all four-cylinder
models in conjunction with 6-speed manual
transmission) appears on the Info Display and
indicates when the engine has been switched
off by the Auto Start/Stop function (e.g. at
traffic lights or in a jam). The signal disappears
when the engine is automatically restarted.
s Optimum Shift Indicator shows when
switching to another gear would be more fuel-
efficient. The system recommends when to
switch to a higher or lower gear, as appropriate
to your driving style. For example, when
accelerating it signalises whether to carry on
accelerating in a higher gear, thereby saving
fuel (for vehicles with 6-speed manual
transmission).
s On-board computer, provides information
about average speed, average and current
fuel consumption, range and outside
temperature.
s Instrument panel with analogue instruments
and red backlighting: speedometer, LC display
for mileage counter, trip counter and on-board
computer, plus tachometer with integrated
fuel gauge.
